Academics

Lighthouse Christian Academy offers a well rounded; Bible based education that has helped to prepare its students for future educational endeavors.   Preschool and elementary students received a strong reading foundation that is taught from one of the premiere Christian curriculums in the world, Abeka Book, from Pensacola, Fl.   The school from its conception has been grounded in solid Biblical principles that promote hard work, honesty, character, cooperation, and respect for authority, high moral standards and self-esteem.  Added to this firm foundation are Godly, qualified teachers, who teach their students the Abeka curriculum.   All students in Kindergarten through the eighth grade are tested annually with the Iowa  Achievement  and Cognitive Ability Test (COGAT).

To apply for admission, contact the school office and make an appointment to meet with the school principal.  You will need to bring report cards for the last two years and the latest copy of a standardized test (SAT, Iowa Assessment, ARMT) that your student has taken.   Fourth grade students and above will need a letter of recommendation from a non family member and be interviewed by the principal prior to enrollment.  An Academic evaluation may be required prior to enrollment.

Notice of Nondiscriminatory Policy As To Students

The Lighthouse Christian Academy school admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
